Job Description:
An Intermediate Assembly Artist is responsible for lighting, rendering, and compositing shots
with character, environment, and visual effects together to meet the quality requirement in
animated content for TV. An Intermediate Assembly Artist needs to ensure that character,
environment, and visual effects are well merged and enhanced using technical skill and aesthetic judgement.
An Intermediate Assembly Artist also needs to have a good understanding of full CG process,
film and photographic lighting techniques, lighting design, HDRI and global illumination
rendering, color theory, and to have keen eye in developing dynamic mood and feel for the
animated content according to the art direction in a project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Able to do lighting and compositing shots with character, environment, and visual effects for team lead/ supervisor’s approval on a daily’s basis
- Work closely with teammates, team lead and Asset Team (Modeling & Texturing artist) to maintain consistent process and visual quality
- Understand the look requirement of each shot in a project and able to harmonize the creative and technical aspects of the shots
- Able to complete tasks under tight datelines
- Effectively communicate and actively seek information to get a clear understanding upon receiving feedback from the seniors and team lead
- Accurately deliver feedback to juniors and help juniors to understand feedbacks
- Able to work independently and effectively with a team
- Able to improve team spirit
Job Requirements:
- Able to work on-site at our studio
- 3 to 4 years of experiences in 3D lighting and compositing for animated content in TV and Games
- Good knowledge in Unreal Engine, Maya, Photoshop, and global illumination lighting software such as Arnold
- Good knowledge of compositing skill and lighting techniques especially in light and shadow
- Good knowledge of color theory like color space, color contrast, color correction, color
matching and exposure
- Good understanding of visual composition and ability to enhance mood and feel by lighting
- Have cultivated eye for details
- Good knowledge of directory structure, file formats, naming conventions and automation tools
- Good communication skills, able to take direction positively
