Role Overview
We are looking for talented 3D Animators to join our team for an upcoming wave of high-profile TV and game projects. As an animator at our studio, you are more than a technician; you are a digital actor. You will be responsible for imbuing characters, creatures, and environments with life, weight, and personality. The ideal candidate blends a mastery of Animation
Principles with the technical discipline required to work within complex, modern pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Performance & Storytelling
- Expressive Character Acting: Create high-quality animations that convey nuanced emotions and clear intent, ensuring character performances resonate with the narrative.
- Creature & Mechanics: Develop believable movement for creatures and animals, demonstrating a deep understanding of weight, center of gravity, and locomotion.
- Cinematic Contribution: Analyze shot stories to provide creative input on posing and timing that best serves the director’s vision.
2. Technical Execution & Quality Control
- Daily Iteration: Produce and submit animation playblasts daily for Lead/Supervisor review, incorporating feedback with speed and precision.
- QA: Conduct rigorous quality checks on your own work (checking for arcs, pops, and gimbal lock) before submission to ensure it meets studio benchmarks.
- Pipeline Integration: Maintain strict adherence to directory structures, naming conventions, and file formats to ensure seamless hand-offs to the Lighting and VFX departments.
3. Collaboration & Communication
- Active Feedback Loop: Proactively seek clarification on feedback from Seniors and Leads to ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Team Synergy: Contribute to a positive, high-energy team environment, sharing techniques and supporting peers to meet tight production deadlines.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Professional experience in 3D character animation for TV series, Feature Films, or AAA Games.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Maya.
- Engine Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine (Sequencer, Control Rig) or the proven ability to migrate animation skills into a real-time engine environment quickly.
- Core Fundamentals: Mastery of animation principles: Squash & Stretch, Anticipation, Staging, Straight Ahead/Pose to Pose, Follow Through/Overlapping Action, Slow In/Out, Arcs, Secondary Action, Timing, Exaggeration, Solid Drawing, and Appeal.
- Artistic Eye: Strong grasp of human anatomy, facial expressions, body language, and cinematography.
- Deadline Driven: Proven ability to manage time effectively and deliver high-quality frames under the pressure of tight broadcast schedules.
- Availability: Must be available to commence full-time engagement starting May 2026.
Beneficial Skills
- Technical Animation: Experience with rigging logic, constraint systems, or physics-based simulation (cloth/hair).
- Pre-visualization: Ability to block out cameras and rough timing for "previz" stages.
- Industry Tools: Familiarity with task tracking and version control tools.
