The incumbent leads and develops high-performing engineering teams while ensuring successful delivery of quality software solutions. This role is responsible for driving technical excellence, talent development, project execution, engineering best practices and client engagement while aligning technology initiatives with business objectives and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Growth

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers and SDETs.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, create development plans, and support career growth.
  • Encourage collaboration through code reviews, tech talks, and pair programming.
  • Champion innovation, especially in integrating AI best practices into engineering workflows.

Hiring & Talent Development

  • Oversee technical hiring: planning, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Define roles, career paths, and growth frameworks.
  • Attract and retain top-tier engineering talent aligned with our values.

Project Delivery & Execution

  • Ensure engineering projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Partner with project managers and clients to plan and track delivery.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent client projects, ensuring quality and performance.
  • Uphold coding standards, security, and usability best practices.

Technical Strategy & Process Improvement

  • Define and evolve technical architecture, tools, and development processes.
  • Promote test-driven development, CI/CD, and automation.
  • Support and scale the role of SDETs in improving test coverage and efficiency.

Client Engagement

  • Act as the senior technical point of contact for clients.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions and delivery plans.
  • Proactively manage client expectations and risks.
  • Lead technical reviews, post-mortems, and retrospectives for improvement.

Experience & Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience

  • 10+ years in software engineering, including 7+ years of hands-on development.
  • At least 3 years leading engineering teams in a client-facing/professional services setting.
  • Strong delivery track record for mobile projects (React Native preferred).

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and memory/battery management.
  • Full-stack experience (front & back-end), with cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Skilled in Git, CI/CD, and modern testing practices.

Leadership & Process

  • Proven ability to hire, mentor, and scale engineering teams.• Strong grasp of agile delivery, sprint planning, and team velocity tracking.
  • Experience running code reviews, technical workshops, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Familiarity with KPIs such as deployment frequency, defect rates, and delivery predictability.
