Position Overview:
The incumbent must demonstrate effective Agile delivery skill while applying a strong data-
driven approach. Beyond facilitating Agile ceremonies, the incumbent must use Jira analytics
to provide insights, identify systemic issues, and design dashboards that guide decision making at team and program levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Agile Delivery & Team Coaching
- Apply Scrum and Agile principles, coach teams and stakeholders on Agile mindset, foster an environment of continuous improvement, team collaborations and accountability.
- Coordinate and facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies and ensure alignment with teams’ commitments and Definition of Done (DoD).
- Proactively identify and eliminate obstacles to delivery, fostering smooth team collaboration and effective conflict resolution.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with Product Owners to keep the backlog clear, ensure clarity on priorities and readiness for upcoming sprints.
- Maintain effective communication and clarity among internal and external stakeholders.
- Support teams in understanding scope, risks, dependencies, and cross-team alignment.
Analytical Acumen
Data Analysis & Insights
- Analyse Jira data/metrics to identify bottlenecks, delivery risks, and patterns affecting team’s performance.
- Evaluate sprint metrics (boards, workflows, sprint metrics, velocity, cycle time, WIP, invalid items, dependency flags, story readiness, etc.) to highlight issues, inefficiencies and improvement areas.
- Provide actionable insights for Product Owner, Engineering Manager, Program & Product Lead (PPL), and teams.
Dashboard Creation & Maintenance
- Build and maintain dashboards (Jira, Power BI, or other analytics tools) to visualise key delivery metrics and team’s performance.
- Ensure dashboards remain automated, accurate, and useful to support data-driven decision making.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Generate weekly, monthly, and PI-level reports summarising risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Track improvement items and ensure follow-through, especially around:
- Two-sprint-ahead readiness
- Story quality
- Decreasing ad-hoc story creation
- Reducing invalid/duplicate/out-of-sync stories
- Team predictability and delivery consistency
- Collaborate with the Program & Product Lead to define and measure KPIs .
Experience & Qualifications:
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Business, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Scrum Master certification (PSM2, CSM, ASM) is a plus.
- Data analytics or BI certification is an added advantage
Experience
- 5-7 years as a Scrum Master in Agile environment.
- Proven experience as Scrum Master supporting one or more development teams.
- Strong command of Agile values, Scrum framework, and Scrum artifacts (DoR, DoD, user stories, estimation techniques).
- Familiarity with software development environments.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong proficiency in Jira querying (JQL), workflows, custom fields, and dashboards.
- Ability to extract, clean, and transform Jira data for analysis.
- Experience with Power BI, Jira dashboards, or equivalent BI/analytics tools.
- Ability to generate automated reports and visual insights.
- Understanding of statistical trends, KPI design, and Agile metrics.
- Bonus) Experience working with Excel formulas, pivot tables, or Python/R for light data analysis.
