Mid-level, QA Automation

We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Automation QA Engineer to join our energetic and collaborative team. This role requires a strong background in mobile test automation, a solid understanding of QA principles, and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts to help ensure our mobile apps are reliable and high-quality.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Requirement Analysis

• Review user stories to determine what needs to be tested and automated.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing efforts.
• Contribute to test strategy and planning to align with Agile sprints.

Test Case Design

• Create and review test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Work with the team to ensure all critical paths are covered by tests, including automation.

Automation Development

• Build and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Appium, Selenium, or WebDriverIO.
• Improve and maintain the test automation framework for scalability and efficiency.

Test Execution

• Run automated tests during sprints and analyze results.
• Perform manual testing when needed, especially for complex or edge-case scenarios.
• Help developers understand and resolve defects.

Defect Management

• Log and track defects with clear details on how to reproduce them.
• Work with developers and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.

Regression & Test Data Management

• Run regression tests to confirm new changes haven’t broken existing features.
• Manage test data to ensure it's accurate and available when needed.

Team Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with developers, Product Owners, and the QA Manager.
• Provide daily updates on testing progress, issues, and overall quality.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve QA processes and tools.
• Keep up with the latest testing trends, tools, and practices.
• Mentor junior QA members and share best practices through training sessions.

Documentation

• Maintain clear documentation of test plans, cases, and results for future reference.

Adaptability & Task Management

• Stay flexible with changing priorities and project needs.
• Manage and prioritize testing tasks based on sprint objectives.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong knowledge of QA processes and testing methods.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools like Appium, Selenium, WebDriverIO.
• Proficient in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience using Git, CI/CD tools, and collaborative workflows.
• Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Fortify, and JIRA is a plus.
• Experience testing mobile applications is essential.
