Islands Petroleum (IP) is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/Oro Bay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.
We are currently seeking for a Stock Officer for Konebada Depot Operations to be based here in Port Moresby, National Capital District.
The Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Depot Manager, the main role of the Stock Officer is to supervise and control all stock accounting procedures and processes, to ensure accurate accounting for all stock movement both in and out of the Depot and to ensure Quality Customer Service is properly maintained at all times
Other key responsibilities include:
- Reconcile daily stock movements to the Inventory Accounting records by verifying transactions from the TTFS Control Sheet, Drum Control Sheet and Lubes register to the daily Stock Movement report in Pronto System
- Timely submission of Stock on Hand Report to HO Stock Controller
- Raising and Processing of Stock adjustments for the following System Stock after approval is obtained from the Assistant Depot Manager.
- Ensure that packaged product received via shipping is accounted for, by comparing Container Discharge Sheets with Commercial Invoices and investigating discrepancies to the Assistant Depot Manager/Depot Manager and to raise appropriate accounting documentation.
- Prepare monthly reports stock movement gain/loss.
- Prepare monthly reports for fuel consumption for all fleet at the depot and Engineering fleet if applicable.
- Timely submission of reports needed by the Depot Manager
- Ensure all TOS deliveries of product are completed by allocating delivery dockets and reconciling delivery dockets to TOS daily.
- Notifying Assistant Depot Manager/Depot Manager of inventory levels
Candidate Requirements
The person we seek must have the following:
- Diploma in Accounting or Business Management is desirable.
- Two plus years of industry experience in Stock Inventory and Logistics
- Have experience in providing reports to Higher Management Excellent Communication Skills,
- Team player
- Leadership Skills
- Computer Literate (adapt in using MS Office)
- Reporting Skills and Business Correspondence
- Good Comprehension Skills
- Time and Priority management Proactively delivers and performs task in a safe manner.
- Carry out general workplace hazard identifications and keep the workplace free from obstructions good communication skills both verbal and written.
- A team player with good personality
- Exposure to a complex retail environment, petroleum industry is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
- Neat and tidy appearance
