Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo,Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/Oro Bay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.
We are currently seeking for Operation Supervisors to join our Operations team to be based at our Lae Depot in Lae, Morobe Province.
The Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Depot Manager, the incumbents will be responsible for supervising and controlling all operations, engineering/maintenance processes and procedures to ensure compliance to Safe Operating Procedures. This role will also account for all stock movement in and out of the terminal and to ensure quality customer service is always maintained.
Other responsibilities include:
- Ensure all bulk loads must be invoiced before leaving depot or Invoiced by End of Day as per site specifications
- All Stocks Control Documents must be reconciled and balanced daily
- All Counts and Dips must be reported to Depot Stocks Clerk before 9.00am each working day.
- Conduct Routine Inspections of Depot Plant and Equipment.
- Reporting of Sub-standards from Inspections, record into Genco then gets repairs done on a timely manner
- All Projects must be planned, and material costing must be managed
- Ensure full compliance to Work Permit System
- Ensure the Yard, Tank Farm, Shed and Offices must be always in a clean and tidy state
- Supply and Receipt of Lubes according to DPIM procedure
- Conduct Weekly Facility Inspections
- Conduct Monthly Maintenance Inspection and check fitter and compare inspections
- Plan R&M for Depot Plant and Equipment
- Manage Ship Bunkers
- Assist Tanker Discharge Office to Discharge Fuel Tankers
- Maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, Security & Environmental protection by complying with company and statutory policies and procedures.
Candidates Requirements
The person we seek must have the following:
- Minimum Diploma level or Trade qualification in Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role
- Previous experience in the petroleum industry, oil and gas or other wholesale business environment is an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player with neat and tidy appearance
