Islands Petroleum (IP) is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/Oro Bay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.
We are currently seeking for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Operations team to be based at our Lae Depot in Lae, Morobe Province.
The Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Depot Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the following.
- Provide Quality Customer Service through the timely supply of product, feedback, and advice in an efficient manner.
- Maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, Security & Environmental protection by complying with company and statutory policies and procedures.
- Preparation of Invoices and Statements for customers and send them out to relevant persons for payments.
- Control payments being received and reconcile Customers accounts on a timely basis.
- Accurately capture invoices in the accounting system in order to effect payments on time and accurately.
- Check and match Invoices against accounting database.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting or any related programs
- 2-year experience in clerical / accounting roles with at least 1 year in Sales.
- Experience with PRONTO is ideal or any other Accounting Software
- High Volume Processing and high Attention to detail.
- Good Understanding of accounting principles and strong working knowledge of Excel
- Flexibility to meeting a broad range of support tasks will be highly advantageous.
- Excellent Communication skills both Verbal and Written.
- Good Organizational skills and the ability to priorities work and manage multiple tasks.
