Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the distributor for Mobil Lubricants in Papua New Guinea. Islands Petroleum operates bulk fuel and lubricant Depots and Distribution Centres in the Islands, Momase, Southern, and the Highlands regions.
We are currently seeking a seasoned professional for a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join our Human Resource Team, to be based at our Port Moresby office.
The Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator is an integral part of the HR team and will be responsible for managing the entire end to end recruitment across the business. Other roles and responsibilities include:
- Develop sustainable recruitment strategy based on company’s workforce needs & objectives.
- Update existing, and where appropriate, recruitment procedures to ensure the Company is able to attract the very best talent available.
- Work closely with department managers and other key individuals to ensure smooth, timely and cost-effective recruitment and selection process is delivered.
- Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, providing updates on the status of candidates and the overall recruitment process.
- Creating and posting job advertisements ensuring all are advertised in a timely manner.
- Screen resumes and applications, conducting initial phone screens to assess candidates' qualifications and fit.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews, both in-person and virtual, ensuring that all parties involved are well-informed and prepared.
- Conduct reference checks and background screenings for potential hires.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of job descriptions and interview guides.
- Conduct research and stay up to date with industry best practices, emerging trends, and recruitment tools and technologies.
- Manage the Recruitment mailbox and ensuring candidate queries are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Record all recruitment paperwork, candidate information, interview and assessment questions, panel notes etc. and ensure copies are filed safely.
- Working alongside fellow Human Resource Team to ensure the onboarding process is completed in a timely manner.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or Business Management
- Extensive experience in end-to-end recruitment process
- Experience in conducting different types of interviews (e.g. structured, competency based and or behavioral).
- Familiar with HR databases, applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems.
- Familiar job boards such as LinkedIn, PNG Workforce, PNG Jobseek etc.…including other recruitment tools and platforms.
- Exposure to a complex retail environment or petroleum industry will be an advantage.
- Well versed with MS Office
- Excellent analytical mind with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
