Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor and the exclusive distributor for Mobil Fuel and lubricants in PNG. With the head office based in Kokopo Islands Petroleum operates bulk fuel depots in the NGI, Momase, Highlands, and Southern regions.
We are seeking an HR Advisor – NGI to be based in Kokopo and oversee our HR operations within the NGI Region.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Advisor is responsible for dealing with HR requirements relating to the recruitment, onboarding, employee evaluation and performance, labour relations and working policies. In this role, you will keep update records of employees and research, implement the best procedures and play a critical role in aligning HR activities with company’s goals & objectives, and ensure employees are well-supported and motivated. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Implement HR strategies in supporting the companies’ goals and objectives.
- Support recruitment activities to attract and retain top talents and ensuring a seamless onboarding process for new employees.
- Address and resolve employee issues, foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Administer and communicate employee benefits programs, policies and procedures.
- Administer disciplinary policies, processes and provide advise as and when required to business unit managers.
- Collect and analyze data to drive informed decision making.
- Attend to all HR related queries raised by the management and employ
- Advising business unit managers on HR strategies in relation to the HR cycle.
- Participating in the appointment process for potential employees
- Any other duties and responsibilities delegated by HR Manager from time to time.
Candidate Requirements
The incumbent we seek must have the following.
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Human Resource or Business Management.
- Minimum 5 years’ HR Operational experience in fuel, logistics, retail; or similar service-related industry.
- Knowledge of the best HR Practices, HR metrics, PNG labor laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work with people at different levels.
- Proven Leadership ability
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Working knowledge of HR Systems and software
- Able to research, analyze and make logical decisions within a given timeframe.
- Excellent writing ability to present clear and equitable company policies.
