Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/ Orobay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.

 

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Project Supervisor to join our Engineering team to be based in Lae, Morobe Province.

Key Responsibilities

Report to the Site Engineer, the role will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day management and coordination of all activities on site.
  • Ensure site safety and review the SWMS and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Carry out site inductions in accordance with WHS requirements.
  • Carry out daily toolbox meetings.
  • Manage quality control of project.
  • Ensure productivity, efficiency and timeframes are being met onsite.
  • Lead and manage site team and any sub-contractors.
  • Ensure compliance and company policies and procedure are followed correctly.
  • Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements, and delivery deadlines.
  • Capture any variations that may arise.
  • Assist with measure up for quoting if required.
  • Material calculation and ordering.
  • Maintain document control.

 Key Requirements

The person we seek must have the following:

  • Certificate or diploma in Mechanical or relevant
  • Minimum of 7years’ experience as a Project Supervisor.
  • Experience in steel fabrication and construction. Specifically in piping, instrumentation, and tanks
  • Experience with fuel bowsers, dispensers, and transfer pumps.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and related work processes
  • Knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
  • Valid driving license
