Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/ Orobay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.
We are currently seeking to fill the position of Pump Technicians to join our Engineering team to be based in our locations in Port Moresby, Rabaul and Lae respectively.
Key Responsibilities
Report to the Site Engineer, the role will be responsible for:
- Repairing and calibrating retail and commercial fuel pumps across the depots.
- Measure fuel delivery and adjust fuel dispenser calibrations accordingly.
- Perform service plan maintenance and repair, compressors, valves, sensors.
- Install new components where necessary.
- Fault diagnosis through physical inspection and testing devices
- Consult manufacturers manuals and specifications.
- Complete test and maintenance reports
- Adhere to industry safety standards.
Key Requirements
The person we seek must have the following:
- Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Trade or Relevant
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a pump technician in Oil & Gas, or Petroleum industries.
- Basic knowledge in electronics
- Knowledge of industry standards and related work processes
- Knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD
- Competent in Microsoft office Suite: Excel , Word, Outlook etc
- Project management and supervision skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person.
- Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills
- Valid driving license
