Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor, and the exclusive distributor for Mobil lubricants in Papua New Guinea. With the head office based in Kokopo, Islands Petroleum also operates bulk fuel depots in Rabaul, Kimbe, Konebada, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta/Orobay and Mt. Hagen as well as lubes and fuel distribution warehouses in Lae, Port Moresby, and Madang.
We are currently seeking for a Operations Supervisor under our Operations Department to be based at our Konebada Depot, Port Moresby.
The Role & the Responsibilities
Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Operations Supervisor will be providing leadership support to the Depot Manager to ensure the Depot Operations adhere to and maintain high standard of safety, operational processes and procedures to met and enhance high standard of tanker loading and discharge operation activities. Other roles & responsibilities include:
- Plan and carried out task assigned by Depot Manager.
- Assist the Assistant Depot Manager/Depot Manager in day-to-day operations through planning & delegation of scheduled activities that will be carried out by the depot staff.
- Plan & Coordinate Safety Trainings / Meetings & scheduled activities by SHE & Training Officers (HO)
- Ensure correct processes and procedures are available to the Yard Supervisor for guidance & implementations.
- Monitor & Oversee Yard Supervisors & foreman are in their respective yard activities & provide support.
- Maintain effective communications with Depot Manager, fellow Supervisors and operational staff.
- Other duties as and when directed by immediate supervisor.
Candidate Requirements
The person we seek must have the following:
- Tertiary qualification or NC 3(National Certificate) from a recognized Technical College
- Degree Qualification in Accounting or Engineering is desirable
- Minimum 3 years experience in similar capacity in petroleum, retail and or oil and gas industry. would be an advantage
- Leadership and decision-making skills.
- Computer literate and Strong Problem Solving / Analysis
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Interpersonal & Strong Management skills
- Excellent panning, time management and organizational skills
- Neat and tidy appearance
