Annotation Analyst

About The Role

We’re looking for an Annotation Analyst to join our team in building the high-quality datasets that power trustworthy AI systems. You’ll work hands-on with text, audio, visual, or multi-modal data — accurately labeling data points, identifying edge cases, and improving annotation standards alongside cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do:

• Label data with precision across different formats (text, audio, image, etc.) using established guidelines
• Tackle complex annotation tasks while maintaining high quality and efficiency
• Interpret detailed annotation rubrics and contribute to refining task instructions
• Collaborate with the Annotation Quality Lead to identify edge cases and suggest improvements
• Support pilots and exploratory studies that inform new annotation strategies
• Perform self-reviews and peer reviews to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Participate in calibration sessions to align understanding across the team
• Follow ethical best practices, especially for sensitive or culturally specific content
• Flag bias, inclusivity gaps, or fairness concerns in data
• Help shape inclusive AI systems through context-aware labeling

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in linguistics, language technology, social sciences, or other data- or language-centric fields. 
• 1–2 years of experience in annotation, moderation, or other data labeling environments. 
• Familiarity with annotation platforms and basic data quality workflows. 
• Strong comprehension skills, analytical thinking, and written communication abilities. 
• Proficiency in Bahasa Melayu, with the ability to understand nuanced usage, cultural context, and formal writing structures.
