JOB SUMMARY

EP Plus Group is a regional healthcare marketing corporation, making pharmaceuticals and medical products accessible to patients in Southeast Asia. The company operates out of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and has presence in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Philippines, with future geographical expansions in Southeast Asia. EP Plus Group comprises of three (3) distinct business units: Pharmaceuticals, Fertility Sciences, and Medical Aesthetics.

 

As the Market Access & Government Affairs Lead, you will be accountable for the development of market access strategies and tactical plans, and support EP Plus Group to maximize and improve current market access in the Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Philippines markets, with expansion to Thailand & Vietnam in the future. You are required to assist in product sourcing and commercialization, develop access solutions including market analyses for internal and external partners with strategic insights, in both the private and public healthcare sectors.

 

This highly coveted role requires you to have an exceptional ability in strategic focus and thinking, strong commercial acumen, effective negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with external stakeholders to drive long term and sustainable business success.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The key activities for this role are:

  • Market Access Strategy Development: Develop, manage, and implement comprehensive market access strategies that optimize product reimbursements, pricing, and access to target markets across Southeast Asia countries.
  • Government Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and implement public affairs strategies to shape EP Plus Group’s reputation, enhance its market position, and engage with key stakeholders.
  • Support the commercial business by actively engaging with external stakeholders to increase access of EP Plus Group’s products, and lead market access in formulary listings, creating, and implementing support or patient access programs, developing a strong payor and policy shaping relationship with external agencies/bodies, and be actively involved in product sourcing to identify potential business partners.


Drive Access and Strategy Development

  • Lead market access strategies and execution by working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Support related Health Economics needs for the listing of pharmaceutical products into government formularies in accordance with EP Plus Group’s business priorities.
  • Facilitate and achieve improved patient access to EP Plus Group’s products and services in the private healthcare sector by developing and executing innovative financing models and collaborating with private health insurers.
  • Monitor marketplace dynamics and keep abreast of the latest healthcare trends.
  • Contribute to and provide insights on value creation relating to innovation at pre and post product launch planning.
  • Engage with external parties/stakeholders regarding health policies and access related matters in favor of the company’s interest to maximize patient access of EP Plus Group’s products and services.


Product Sourcing & Market Survey

  •  Access and understand the healthcare landscape for new territories (including product opportunities and barriers to entry), develop entry strategies, and follow up on new product leads to compliment current portfolio offerings.
  • Identify potential business partners that supply products and services of EP Plus Group’s interest and lead the negotiation process with potential partners.
  • Liaise with potential business partners on commercial, regulatory, sales and marketing aspects on therapeutic areas/products of interest.
  • Lead, conduct, and compile market surveys on the product(s) and/or service(s) of interest in a territory.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Development & Medical Team to prepare a business proposal on the product(s) and/or service(s) of interest.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

1)   Knowledge

  • A degree or related qualifications in Health Sciences or related field is preferred.

 

2)   Skills

  • Strong competence in understanding and using economic analyses in creating value arguments on healthcare products and services.
  • Proven track record on developing initiatives with national authorities, established network with government institutions or having past work relationships with the Ministry of Health through patient advocacy and access plans, tender negotiations, and public policy shaping.
  • Good problem-solving, critical thinking, strong analytic skills, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high standard of written and spoken English (other languages are an advantage)
  • Strong project management skills and can work independently without close supervision.
  • Meticulous and able to work towards deadlines.


3)   Experience

  • Market Access and Government Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry (at least 4-5 years of Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Devices Market Access experience). Prior leadership roles in either marketing or sales will be an added advantage.
  • Business planning and/or market analyses based on access principles is essential for the success of the role.
