Position Summary:
A Demi Chef operates as the assistant to all the Chef De Partie and Sous Chef. The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the speciality section. They must manage their kitchen stations and cut down on kitchen waste. Assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes. A part of their duties is to figure out how much supplies of food will need to be ordered. He/she should be aware of the specific ingredients and their measurement. They are also responsible for tasting meals before they are served to customers, to ensure that it meets the standard.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
- Ensures completion of assigned duties.
- Assists in determining how food should be presented.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
- Support team to reach common goals.
- Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Serve as a role model.
