Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing full sets of account - Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable (including closely following up on necessary approvals, prepare and execute payment process), Intercompany billings, Staff Reimbursement, Monthly Closing, Perform bank reconciliation, and all other related matters.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders within the finance department and other departments such as marketing, sales, respective business units etc, and also external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of internal controls.
  • Assist in ad-hoc assignments such as internal audit.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. 
  • Assist in investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and accounting procedures.
  • Assist in ensuring the consistency of financial data for the region from various operation systems, including roll out, harmonising business processes and providing visibility of operations across the entities.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Professional accountancy qualification required (ACA, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in finance and accounting functions, with a preference for candidates who have 3 years of experience in external audit at a Big 4 or a reputable Mid-tier accounting firm, along with 2 years of in-house accounting experience.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience in consolidation is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in both English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel (Pivot Table, Vlookup).
  • Experience in Crypto/Brokerage Firm/Fintech/Financial Services industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
