Durioo+ is a dynamic tech start-up company located in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. It was founded by the creative thing behind the creative mind behind the phenomenally successful preschool cartoons Omar & Hana and Didi & Friends. Both cartoons have amassed more than 18 million subscribers and an incredible 8 billion views on YouTube. As a proud member of Y-Combinator (W22), Durioo+ serves as a safe streaming platform for animations and videos designed specifically for children.

Durioo+ operates on a subscription-based model. We produce, co-produce, and license entertaining, ethical, and meaningful content tailored for children. Launched in February 2022, we already boast more than 36,000 paid subscribers and host over 16,000 pieces of content on our platform and numbers are growing every month. All our content is meticulously curated to align with Islamic teachings and values.

Job Overview

Durioo+ is looking for a Creative Writer & Digital Marketing to join our growing team — someone who’s passionate about crafting compelling content, managing social media, and driving growth through creative storytelling and digital strategy. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes writing, understands digital audiences, and knows how to build meaningful connections through impactful copy, email marketing, and social media campaigns. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and have strong experience in content creation, digital marketing, and community engagement.

Background & Experience:

Here’s a breakdown of what this role might involve, considering the nature of Durioo+ as a safe streaming platform for children:

Creative Copy & Content Writing:

  • Write and edit engaging content across various platforms: social media, blogs, email newsletters, landing pages, ads, and more.
  • Ensure all copy aligns with Islamic values and the brand voice of Durioo+ — fun, educational, family-friendly.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to brainstorm campaign ideas, video captions, and storytelling angles that resonate with kids and parents alike.
  • Craft concise, clear, and persuasive messaging that supports campaign goals and boosts engagement.

Email Marketing:

  • Design email marketing campaigns to engage with subscribers by providing updates, educational content, and personalized recommendations.
  • Segment email lists based on user behavior and preferences to tailor messages and increase relevancy.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms such as Sendgrid, Flodesk, Uscreen, Notion or similar.

Content Creation - Blogs and Social Media:

  • Regularly produce and disseminate engaging blog posts that highlight the educational and value-based aspects of Durioo+ programming.
  • Manage social media platforms, creating and scheduling content that promotes interaction and enhances community building.
  • Use social media analytics tools to track engagement metrics and optimize social media strategy.
  • Excellent knowledge of Meta Business (Facebook, Instagram), Tiktok, Youtube, Twitter/X, LinkedIn and other social media best practices.

Growth & Campaign Strategy:

  • Support campaigns from idea to execution — including seasonal promotions like Eid, Ramadan, school holidays, etc.
  • Assist in campaign planning and copywriting across different formats (landing pages, paid ads, influencer shoutouts, etc.).
  • A/B test messaging and visuals to see what works best for conversions and awareness.

Requirements:

This role requires a blend of creativity and analytical skills to explore and capitalize on new growth opportunities while ensuring that all marketing activities align with the brand’s mission of providing safe, educational, and engaging content for children globally. This approach not only promotes growth but also strengthens Durioo+'s position as a trusted platform for family-friendly content within the community.

  • Proven experience as a Creative Writer, Social Media Executive, Content Marketer, or Digital Marketer
  • Strong storytelling and writing skills with a flair for engaging copy
  • Good understanding of Muslim audiences and family-friendly content
  • Familiarity with Meta Business, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter/X, LinkedIn
  • Experience with email platforms (Sendgrid, Flodesk, Notion, or similar)
  • Bonus: Familiarity with WordPress, Elementor, or similar CMS tools
  • Good time management, multitasking, and communication skills
  • A team player with attention to detail and creativity
  • Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications, English, or related field — or at least 1 year experience in the field
