The Mission
Direct Lending is a fast-growing, award-winning lending fintech on a mission to empower people's lives with simple and responsible financing. Having built a sustainable, profitable foundation, we are now entering a scaling-up phase. Our roadmap is clear: scale our needs-based financing, grow our revenue 5X and become IPO-ready by 2030.
We are looking for a Product Manager who believes that financing can be a force for good. You will own and drive product outcomes across our end-to-end needs-based financing journey — spanning customer acquisition, customer retention & activation, onboarding, partnership, loan management, merchant experience and collection.
You will work closely with the Head of Product/ Product Lead to translate business goals into product outcomes, bridging the gap between user needs, technical execution, and commercial impact.
At Direct Lending, success isn't measured by how many features you ship, but by the measurable impact your products have on our customers' lives and our company's growth.
Why Join Direct Lending?
- Ownership from Day One: You will own real products with real impact — not just manage a backlog.
- Breadth of Experience: You will work across the full financing journey — from the moment a customer discovers us to the moment their financing is fully repaid. No two sprints will look the same.
- Speed as a Competitive Advantage: We are a lean team where decisions are made in hours, not months. No death by committee.
- Mission-Driven Work: You will be building products that make financing simple and accessible for people who need it most.
Your Core Responsibilities
1. Product Execution
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle across one or more product areas — from discovery to launch to iteration. As the team scales, product ownership may evolve and rotate to match business priorities.
- Work with the Head of Product/Product Lead on product roadmap execution and ensure priorities are aligned to business outcomes.
- Write clear, well-structured product requirements that engineers and other stakeholders can execute without ambiguity.
- Support our Loan as a Service partnerships, working with external partners to embed our loan origination and management capabilities into their ecosystem.
2. User & Data-Led Thinking
- Ground every product decision in data and user insights, not assumptions.
- Define and track the metrics that matter — conversion, time-to-disbursement, and user satisfaction.
- Conduct user interviews and gather merchant feedback to continuously improve the product experience. Every release is a starting point, not a finish line.
- Ask one question before every product decision: does this make the customer's life simpler and better?
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with tech, business, credit, and operations teams to deliver products that are frictionless for users and compliant by design.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure nothing gets lost between vision and execution.
Who You Are
- Minimum 2 years of digital product management experience, ideally in Fintech, B2B SaaS, or E-commerce.
- Outcome-driven — you think in terms of business impact, not just feature delivery.
- Adaptable — comfortable owning different product areas at different stages of growth and switching context without losing momentum.
- Data-fluent — comfortable using analytics to validate decisions and measure outcomes.
- Detail-oriented but pragmatic — you know when to obsess over the details and when to ship and iterate.
- Strong communicator who can bridge business, tech, and design conversations.
- You build with integrity — you understand that in fintech, trust is the product.
- Never satisfied with good enough — you embrace a growth mindset and are always looking for that 1% improvement.
- Experience with AI-powered products or workflows is a plus.
