Who Are We?

CompAsia is a digital and technology company that provides end-to-end solutions for certified pre-owned devices focusing on the mobile phone life-cycle value chain. Our focus is on delivering a mobile phone lifecycle experience not limited to Trading, Financing and Insurance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company’s interests. 
  • Oversee delivery of sound legal services and advice to protect the company’s interests and accomplish corporate goals, strategies, and priorities. 
  • Understand relevant local, state and federal governmental laws and regulations and provide legal advice and opinion on legal issues (i.e. Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, US, UK and etc.). 
  • Manage due diligence exercise pursuant to fund-raising/IPO activities including but not limited to ensuring proper contract management, proper corporate secretarial records and ensuring compliance with Company laws.
  • Conduct diligent research into legal issues and recommend revisions as needed across a range of legal documents and agreements. 
  • Advise the management on contract management and terms. 
  • Participate in formulation of general management policy. Institutional policies and procedures, as well as the regulatory environment. 
  • Manage a team of in house corporate legal members of the legal department and working closely with any external legal firms across Group levels. 
  • Negotiate, write, and execute agreements and contracts on behalf of the company. 
  • Advising on contract status and the legal liabilities associated with different deals.
  • Anticipate and plan for all legal risks, develop strategies to mitigate those risks. 
  • Research and anticipate unique legal issues that could impact the company’s interests.
  • Ensure reliable and timely execution of the company’s day-to-day legal activities. 
  • Any other ad-hoc task as and when required.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Law from an accredited law university. LL.M is highly encouraged. 
  • At least minimum 12 years of solid legal experience in a high-quality law firm and/or sophisticated in-house legal department, with at least 5 years of experience in leadership role.  
  • Well-versed with local and regional Contract law, judicial systems and procedures, legal and commercial documentation procedures, and range of applicable laws and regulations that impact on all facets of business policy and operations.  
  • Experience with legal due diligence exercises.
  • Preferably, with experience in IPO exercise and familiarity with IPO documentations. 
  • Ability to identify and communicate complicated issues to lawyers and non-lawyers in an effective and timely manner including risk assessments, legal guidance, strategy, etc.
  • Ability to lead teams, mentor staff, solve problems, balance competing priorities, and provide strategic direction.
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication and in working with stakeholders from diverse cultures and countries, strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
