What Role Will You Play in Shaping CompAsia's Future?
1. Cash Flow Management:
• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow management to ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, ensuring that the company meets its obligations.
• Manage working capital by optimizing accounts receivable and payable cycles to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Ensure proper allocation and control of funds to support business growth and ongoing projects.
2. Management of Trade Facilities & Drawdowns:
• Oversee the management of trade finance facilities.
• Coordinate the drawdown of trade facilities to ensure smooth operation of the company’s working capital needs, liaising with banks.
• Monitor loan agreements, repayments, and ensure that trade facilities are used efficiently and within contractual terms.
• Negotiate favorable terms with financial institutions to secure trade financing options.
3. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with local statutory regulations and accounting standards (e.g., Singapore Financial Reporting Standards - SFRS).
• Manage the statutory audit process and ensure audit findings are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
4. Tax Compliance & Liaison with IRAS:
• Ensure compliance with all Singapore tax regulations, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), corporate income tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax filings, ensuring that all reports adhere to IRAS requirements.
• Act as the primary liaison with IRAS, addressing tax queries, audits, and compliance issues.
• Lead tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and identify opportunities for tax savings while complying with local regulations.
• Stay updated with changes in tax laws and ensure the company adapts to new tax regulations.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Lead the budgeting process, preparing annual budgets, and periodic forecasts in line with the company’s strategic goals.
• Track and report on financial performance against budget, providing insights and recommendations for corrective action where necessary.
• Analyze variances between actual and forecasted performance, and provide recommendations for improving financial outcomes.
6. Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering:
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to guide business decision-making.
• Act as a finance business partner to various departments, helping them understand financial impacts of their activities and aligning them with company objectives.
• Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, tax authorities, and legal counsel.
7. Team Leadership & Development:
• Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring that they have the skills, knowledge, and motivation to perform their roles effectively.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements to improve the efficiency of the finance function.
• Ensure the team stays updated on developments in tax laws, financial regulations, and best practices.
What Qualifications and Experience Will You Bring to Excel in This Role?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required, with CPA, ACCA, or CFA qualifications preferred.
- A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in finance, trade facility management, and tax compliance is essential.
- Strong expertise in cash flow management, understanding of tax laws, and financial analysis are necessary.
- Proficiency in financial management software such as SAP or similar ERP systems, along with advanced Excel skills, is required.
- Candidates should be detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities.
