About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and commercially driven Portfolio Relationship Manager to manage and grow CapBay’s existing client portfolio.This role focuses on deepening long-term client relationships, optimising portfolio utilisation, and identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities across CapBay’s financing solutions. You will act as a trusted financing partner to clients, supporting repeat financing, renewals, and evolving financing needs as their businesses grow.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of existing clients, ensuring strong engagement, retention, and portfolio quality
- Build deep client relationships by understanding clients’ business operations, cash flow cycles, and financing requirements to drive repeat financing, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities
- Identify opportunities to increase wallet share through higher utilisation, additional products, or more structured financing solutions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing ongoing advisory support and timely resolution of financing-related matters
- Prepare, review, and recommend financing proposals for renewals, enhancements, restructurings, or new facilities, working closely with internal credit teams to ensure alignment with risk appetite and policy
- Monitor portfolio performance, client behaviour, and early warning indicators, and proactively manage risks or potential issues
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Credit, Operations, Legal, Product, Collections) to ensure smooth execution, documentation, and ongoing servicing
- Maintain accurate CRM updates, portfolio reporting, and utilisation tracking
Key Qualities and Requirements:
We are looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in in SME banking, in relationship management, portfolio management, commercial banking, corporate banking, or alternative financing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial solutions to diverse stakeholders
- Proven track record in sourcing new clients, handle mid-sized or structured financing deals
- Leadership or mentoring experience is a strong advantage
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution
- Strong credit understanding and ability to assess business risks
