About the Role:
We’re looking for an Associate to join CapBay. If you are analytical, curious, enjoys learning how things work, love solving problems and not afraid to ask questions, this role is for you. You will be working across multiple teams to support recovery efforts, improve risk management processes, keep investor interests protected and drive smarter operations as we scale. You will be exposed to a steep learning curve and opportunities, and we will provide the guidance and support you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Support the team in managing overdue or defaulted accounts by preparing case summaries, conducting business analysis on distressed accounts, and tracking recovery progress.
- Staying informed on relevant news or developments affecting distressed or high risks accounts and using these insights to support recovery recommendations.
- Liaising directly with issuers to guide repayment efforts, clarify financial positions, obtain supporting documents, and ensure timely communication.
- Assisting in the development of recovery options and proposals, such as repayment plans or settlements, and preparing the necessary documentation.
- Maintaining accurate records and updating dashboards to monitor on-going recovery cases, follow-up actions, and performance across portfolios.
- Assist in generating repayment projections or recovery scenarios modelling to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitoring key risk indicators, such as late payments and defaults and identify in trends or red flags that may require escalation.
- Preparing clear and accurate reports for internal stakeholders and investors under the guidance of senior team members.
- Coordinating with Legal, Investor Relations, Finance and Operations teams to ensure alignment and efficiency across recovery and risk-related matters.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in Finance, Business, Law, Accounting, or a related field
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience in a similar or related role
- A strong sense of ownership, attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Confidence working with Excel or Google Sheet to analyze data and track cases
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
