About the Role: 

We are looking for highly motivated and impact-driven legal counsel to join our dynamic team at CapBay. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference and wants to grow alongside us. As a legal counsel, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Legal team by developing and implementing various programs, collaborations, and initiatives related to product and process development, financing, technology, and general legal advisory work. Key Responsibilities: 

In this role, you will be expected to:


  • Draft, review, develop and keep up-to-date standard documentation templates
  • Liaise and coordinate with external solicitors and manage ongoing financing transactions (including security perfection)
  • Deal with product and process development, financing, technology, and general legal advisory work
  • Build and implement various programs, collaborations, and initiatives during this period of growth for CapBay
  • Work with colleagues from various departments to identify, analyse potential legal issues and offer them strategic legal advice
  • Scour areas for improvement, in addition to being able to resolve issues creatively in a frictionless manner


Key Qualifications and Requirements: 

We are looking for someone who has:


  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) 
  • Prior experience in banking and finance practice with a reputable law firm or financial institution would be a strong plus.
  • 5 years of PQE with a strong background in corporate conveyancing.
  • Ability to provide comprehensive legal support for the Company’s fintech projects and initiatives. 
  • Ability to handle transactions independently with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring adherence to defined timelines.
  • Strong interest in managing and structuring financing transactions, with focus on providing innovative, customer-centric and technology-driven financing solutions.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing a wide range of legal documents including commercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, financing documents and other related contracts. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills and clear thought process coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
