Job Title : Technical Lead – Infrastructure Engineer

Department/Function : TOD-INT-INF

Reporting to Title : Head of IT Infrastructure

Main Objectives and Activities:

The Infrastructure Tech Lead is a senior technical role in the infrastructure engineering path. This role provides authoritative technical leadership through architecture, standards, and hands-on delivery across core infrastructure platforms.

The position is explicitly individual contributor in nature, with no direct people management responsibilities.

Core Mandate

  • Lead infrastructure modernization through Infrastructure as Code, automation-first operations, and CI/CD adoption.
  • Define the target-state architecture and engineering guardrails for secure, resilient, and highly available on-prem infrastructure.
  • Raise engineering maturity by eliminating manual, high-risk operational work and institutionalizing repeatable platform patterns.

Responsibilities/ Job Description:

  • Own technical direction and reference architectures for Ansible Automation Platform, OpenShift,
  • Design, implement, and govern enterprise-grade IaC and automated configuration management patterns.
  • Build and standardize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning, patching, hardening, policy validation, and controlled release.
  • Serve as the highest technical escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents, problem management, and root-cause remediation.
  • Define and enforce platform engineering standards for security, reliability, recoverability, and operational observability.
  • Lead technical design reviews and decision records; challenge non-scalable or non-automated approaches.
  • Partner with Security, Risk, Audit, and Operations to ensure infrastructure controls are built-in, testable, and auditable.
  • Provide technical mentorship to Engineers and Senior Engineers through code reviews, architecture guidance, and implementation standards.
  • Participate in occasional on-call support for critical incidents and major-change windows.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering experience in enterprise environments, including senior-level technical ownership.
  • Advanced hands-on expertise with Ansible Automation Platform or similar technologies, including reusable automation design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production IaC adoption, Git repo management and infrastructure CI/CD implementation.
  • Strong understanding of high-availability architecture, disaster recovery, and operational risk controls in regulated environments.
  • Strong observability, log analytics, and operational troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong OpenShift platform engineering experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Expertise in Red Hat Linux systems engineering and operations at scale.
  • Proven enterprise storage expertise. Preference to PureStorage and NetApp SAN technologies.
  • Strong backup and recovery engineering experience with Veeam or similar technologies.
  • VMware platform design, administration, and lifecycle management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as: Certified GitOps Associate (CGOA), RHCE, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
  • Experience integrating IaC and automation with ITSM, CMDB, and governance workflows.
  • Experience with policy-as-code, compliance automation, and platform guardrails.
  • Experience in banking/finance industry

  • Leads through influence, technical depth, and execution discipline without direct people-management dependency.
  • Raises engineering maturity by institutionalizing automation, repeatability, and measurable quality.
