The mission:
The Head of Internal Distribution Department will lead the portfolio of digital solutions for the staff (front office and back office) of international banks (Branch Portal Customer Centric, Branch Portal User Centric, Loan Origination, DAMAaaS, etc.). He will supervise a team of 3 team leaders (product owners) and 2 technical leaders themselves managing business analysts and developers, ensure coordination with business experts and project managers in the banks, and work closely with technical experts (IT architects, infrastructure, security, data) to deliver high‑value features and initiatives in line with the strategic plan and the roadmaps validated with the BRED Group International Department. He will guarantee the coherence and up‑to‑dateness of governance artefacts (backlogs, roadmaps, strategic plans), log and positively challenge all business’ requests, and ensure that the project portfolio is arbitrated and prioritized with sponsors and the BRED Group International Department.
We are looking for a Head of Department with a strong functional and technical background in banking and digital transformation. Solid project and program management skills are essential, as well as experience in digitalization of customer relationship processes, core banking, customer data and banking products. He must be able to coordinate the steering end‑to‑end delivery of major projects: from the collection and qualification of needs, to design and implementation, through testing (SIT, UAT), deployment coordination and change management in all banks, while ensuring compliance with BRED IT processes (architecture and security reviews, change management, QA methodology, support and level 1 operational controls).
Within this role, it is necessary to be an inspiring leader, capable of developing managers and teams, fostering collaboration across BRED IT, BRED HQ functions and international banks, and driving adoption of common solutions. A strong analytical mind, the ability to coordinate complex stakeholders and challenge demands using central expertise (Security, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, Credit, etc.), and the capacity to structure and present clear reporting (governance committees, roadmaps, KPIs, MD tracking, costs) are key. The Head of Department must be an excellent communicator and facilitator, able to align strategic vision and operational execution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Internal Distribution portfolio (Branch Portal Customer Centric, Branch Portal User Centric, Loan Origination, DAMAaaS, etc.) for international banks.
- Define a vision for the products in charge. Define, maintain, and align strategic plans, roadmaps, and backlogs with BRED IT and the BRED Group International Department.
- Coordinate the collection and challenge positively banks’ demands, leveraging central expertise (Security, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, DENG, etc.) to raise the maturity of requests.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise PMO team who coordinate the arbitration of the project portfolio with sponsors and the BRED Group International Department, ensuring coherent, prioritized roadmap.
- Supervise team leaders (product owners), tech leaders and their teams (business analysts, developers, QA) and support their growth, performance, and functional/technical maturity.
- Ensure the on time, quality delivery of releases, particularly on Branch Portal Customer Centric and User Centric, and steer the long‑term CRM vision and adoption in all banks.
- Lead or sponsor key strategic projects (e.g. mutualized Loan Origination, DAMAaaS industrialization), from feasibility/study to potential launch and execution.
- Guarantee compliance of projects and operations with BRED IT processes (architecture and security reviews, project initiation, change management, QA methodology, support, level 1 controls).
- With the support from his General Manager, coordinate closely with BRED IT departments, BRED HQ functions, the BRED Group International Department, and international banks, participating in the relevant governance bodies.
- Drive change management and adoption of common solutions across banks, promoting standardization and best practices.
- Monitor progress, risks, resources, and costs (including man-day tracking) on the Internal Distribution scope and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Provide regular reporting to governance instances (Boards, CITI, roadmap and monthly committees), presenting status, KPIs, issues, and decisions required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters / University degree in related field or equivalent work experience required.
Language skills:
English fluency.
French is a plus.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Around 10 years’ experience working within IT domains is recommended.
- Knowledge of standard IT processes (build, support, testing, change, etc.).
- Ideally comfortable in an international context with exposure to several geographical and cultural regions, or with motivation to be working in an international context.
- Knowledge in core banking, retail banking and/or corporate banking activities.
- Expertise in end-to-end implementation of application – with a particular focus on digitalization of processes related to customer relationship, and customer data.
- Knowledge in functional workflows. Ideally related to bank customer relationships or bank internal processes.
- Expertise in managing and coordinating applicative teams (Product owner, business analyst, QA, development team (back and front). With willingness to lead, and help them grow as professional.
- Must possess good communication skills in English (both written and oral) to be able to work with international stakeholders (France, Laos, Cambodia, Fiji,...).
