We are hiring

Head of Finance. The role is responsible for ensuring strong financial governance, accurate regulatory and statutory reporting, robust internal controls, and effective cash flow and treasury management. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on compliance, financial integrity, liquidity management, and operational excellence.

About the job

Financial Governance, Controls & Regulatory Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and maintain finance policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks in line with regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax reporting obligations
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely regulatory filings, statutory returns, and compliance reports to relevant authorities
  • Act as the primary owner for financial regulatory examinations, inspections, and audits by internal and external auditors and regulatory authorities (for example, Bank Negara Malaysia, Bank of Thailand, KPKT), including timely closure of findings
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and audit trails to support regulatory reviews
  • Oversee fixed assets management, including capitalization, depreciation, tagging, and periodic verification

Financial Reporting & Audit Management

  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy and integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Ensure timely balance sheet reconciliations and prompt resolution of outstanding items
  • Provide financial and compliance reporting to the CEO, EXCO, Board Audit Committee, and Board of Directors
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, statutory audits, and regulatory audits end-to-end for financial items

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow monitoring to ensure sufficient liquidity and funding availability
  • Oversee bank accounts, payment processes, and treasury operations, ensuring strong controls and accuracy
  • Optimize working capital through effective management of receivables, payables, and cash balances
  • Monitor debt and equity-related transactions, including drawdowns, repayments, covenant compliance, and reporting
  • Financial Operations & Service Excellence
  • Oversee end-to-end finance operations including accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, and administrative finance
  • Ensure finance operations are delivered accurately, efficiently, and within approved frameworks and timelines
  • Monitor administrative and operational expenditures to ensure cost discipline and adherence to approved spending limits
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery to internal and external stakeholders
  • Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and financial institutions with regards to financial matters
  • Manage ongoing relationships with external stakeholders to ensure smooth audits, reporting, and regulatory engagement

People Leadership & Capability Building

  • Recruit, lead, and manage the performance of the finance and administration team
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability within the finance function
  • Identify training and development needs to strengthen regulatory, technical accounting, and operational capabilities
  • Build a culture of compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement

To be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree or Professional Degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent ● Professional financial qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) required
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably in licensed and regulated industries such as financial services (e-money, remittance and/or financing), fintech, or technology-driven organizations
  • Strong hands-on experience in:
  • Regulatory and statutory reporting
  • External audits and regulatory examinations
  • Cash flow, liquidity, and treasury management
  • Financial controls and balance sheet management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial and regulatory matters
