Manage convenience retailing (CR) development projects, including the construction of new stations (NTI/Rebranding), the rebuilding of old stations, and the addition of quick-service restaurants (QSR) and clip-in outlets. Ensure all projects are completed safely within the designated timeframe and budget. Additionally, oversee the implementation of all engineering and technical activities to comply with local authorities' requirements, relevant Malaysian Standards, Company Engineering Guidelines, Internal Financial & Control policies, Ethical Policies, and HSSE Policies & Procedures.
- Lead the Convenience Retailing (CR) Engineering Team in liaising with stakeholders, including Retail Operations, Real Estate, Convenience Retailing, RAS, and Finance, to plan and strategize engineering works related to CR.
- Manage all Convenience Retailing installation projects, including shop setups for NTIs, contract renewals, business alliances, quick-service restaurant (QSR) additions, and the razing and rebuilding of aging stations.
- Collaborate with the Convenience Retailing team to ensure all shop layouts are practical and incorporate all aspects approved by key stakeholders.
- Coordinate with third parties and authorities to ensure all Convenience Retailing installation projects comply with design specifications, technical requirements, variation works, relevant permits, client requirements, legislative frameworks, and accepted standards.
- Serve as the primary custodian for all Convenience Retailing engineering-related documents, including petrol station drawings and authority approval correspondences. Ensure all project-related documents, such as tender documents, reports, site instructions, variation work records, permits, certificates, calibration records, and as-built drawings, are properly recorded and easily retrievable.
- Oversee project registration, asset tracking, capitalization processes, procurement, and payment processes.
- Organize and maintain project documentation, ensuring all records are well-documented and available for reference and audit purposes.
- Liaise with consultants, including architects, engineers, suppliers, manufacturers, specialist vendors, third-party inspectors, and contractors, throughout the planning, construction, installation, and commissioning stages of Business Alliance and QSR projects at retail stations.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for each project, ensuring compliance with BHPetrol standards and specifications.
- Manage QSR and business alliance (clip-in) projects at all stages, including feasibility studies, site evaluations, design proposals, construction, completion, and commissioning.
- Maintain strong relationships with authorities to facilitate approval submissions related to Convenience Retailing building scopes of work.
- Perform any additional tasks as required, providing technical assistance to the Development team, including liaising with surveyors, consultants, and contractors and compiling documents for submission to authorities for approval.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent field.
Specialization in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage.
