The Company
Atomionics is a Singapore-based startup building quantum sensors for subsurface exploration and universal navigation. Our sensors generate 3D models of the Earth’s subsurface to pinpoint critical resources, enable GPS-free positioning, and detect earthquakes and volcanic activity.
We specialize in cold atom interferometry—cooling atoms to near absolute zero with lasers to measure tiny gravitational changes. We’re a hands-on, high-energy team operating at the intersection of quantum physics, hardware, and AI. Engineers here work across mechanical, electronic, and software systems—treating every challenge as a workout for the mind.
Backed by Wavemaker, SGInnovate, Cap Vista, 500 Startups, Paspalis, and prominent angel investors, we’re turning deep tech into real-world impact.
Role Overview
As a Mechanical Lab Technician, you will provide critical technical support for our machining (Lathe, Milling, Cutting, Drilling) 3D printing and assembly. You will also manage the lab-space (Mech, Electronics and Physics labs) ensuring inventory, safety and cleanliness. You will have to take courses (funded by the company) to upskill in different technical domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Support machining, 3D printing, mechanical assembly, rework and prototyping.
- Maintain mechanical, electronics, and physics lab spaces, including tools, inventory, safety, and cleanliness.
- Assist with sensor installation, packing, and field survey preparation for quantum gravimeter systems.
- Work with engineers and physicists during system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment.
- Attend company-funded technical courses to upskill across relevant technical domains.
Qualifications
- ITE Nitec / Higher Nitec, Polytechnic Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Hands-on experience with basic machining, workshop tools, assembly, or 3D printing.
- Able to read simple drawings, follow work instructions, and use basic measuring tools.
- Good attitude toward safety, cleanliness, ownership, and hands-on problem solving.
- No prior quantum technology experience required.
- Soldering experience and basic knowledge of electronics and optics.
