Job Description
The Senior Accountant is an analytical and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in financial reporting, tax regulations, and bookkeeping. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's financial transactions, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and lending expertise in planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
What you will do:
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end book closing.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, adhering to GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Analyze and manage inventory records, working closely with the operations and supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels, turnover, and valuation.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies and irregularities by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, providing insights to support decision-making and drive business performance.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure financial accuracy, compliance with regulations, and safeguarding of company assets.
- Collaborate with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance.
- Continuously review and improve accounting processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant, with a proven track record in inventory management and financial reporting for trading businesses and/or listed companies.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and relevant financial regulations.
- Hands-on experience with bookkeeping, book closing, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
