Your Role

The Head of Accounting and Consolidation is responsible for overseeing group accounting, financial close, and consolidation activities across the organisation. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

The role provides leadership over statutory reporting, group consolidation, and technical accounting matters, while driving consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the accounting function.

You will operate as a trusted partner to the Regional Head of Finance, balancing technical excellence with people leadership in a fast-moving, regulated, and increasingly complex environment.

What You’ll Own

  • You own end-to-end accounting — month-end to year end close, statutory and regulatory reporting — and the confidence that comes with getting it right, every time.
  • You set and enforce strong accounting governance, controls, and documentation in line with statutory requirements. Clean books. Clear audit trails. No surprises.
  • You are the primary accounting partner to auditors, tax advisors, actuaries, and regulaors — credible, prepared, and in control.
  • You build, coach, and retain an accounting team that operates with clarity, ownership, and independence — not one that waits to be told what to do.
  • You ensure accounting data is accurate end-to-end — from front-end systems through to the ledger — and you fix issues at the root, not with patches.
  • You continuously raise the bar on close discipline, controls, and workflows, using automation, systems, and AI where it makes sense.
  • You support finance transformation — process redesign, operating model shifts — and make sure change actually works in practice.

What Will You Do

  • Own and maintain accounting policies, controls, workflows, and documentation in line with IFRS, local GAAP, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure records, audit trails, and statutory archives are complete, accurate, and audit-ready
  • Continuously strengthen accounting standards, controls, and processes to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with discipline and accuracy
  • Own statutory, regulatory, and management reporting for Singapore
  • Review and approve all journal entries — from complex IFRS adjustments to routine close postings
  • Ensure timely reconciliations, intercompany settlements, and resolution of issues at root cause
  • Ensure data integrity across accounting systems and front-end interfaces
  • Act as the primary accounting partner to auditors, tax advisors, actuaries, regulators, and authorities
  • Review actuarial reserve calculations, tax computations, and GST filings prepared by external advisors
  • Respond to internal and external queries with clarity, professionalism, and sound judgement
  • Lead or contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including process optimization and system enhancements
  • Support ERP or system implementations where applicable
  • Apply automation & data insights to improve close efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making
  • Drive change across growth, integration, or restructuring scenarios
  • Lead, develop, and manage the Accounting team, setting clear priorities, expectations, and performance standards
  • Coach and develop team members to operate with ownership, independence, and confidence
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high-quality execution aligned with company values

Requirements

  • Min 8 years experience in accounting, financial closing, and regulatory reporting within a regulated environment. Regional experience is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in regulatory reporting is required
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams within complex, matrix or global organizations
  • Experience with regulatory reporting, audited financial statements under IFRS.
  • Experience on corporate income tax computation and GST quarterly returns.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change across different business scenarios (e.g. growth, restructuring, integration)
  • Legal and Regulatory Framework: Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, Regulatory, Direct and Indirect Tax requirements.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end accounting processes, data flows, and controls
  • High proficiency in financial systems and office applications to analyze data and improve closing efficiency
  • Ability to manage complex accounting and reporting processes across multiple stakeholders
