Job Profile: Supplier Quality Engineer

Reports To: Supplier Quality Manager
Job Summary
A Supply Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that materials, components, and products received from suppliers meet the company’s quality standards. This role is critical in manufacturing, electronics, automotive, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality Management
- Evaluate and approve new suppliers based on quality standards
Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
- Inspect and verify materials/components received from suppliers
Supplier Audits
- Conduct on-site or remote audits to assess supplier processes
Issue Resolution
- Investigate defects and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
Quality Improvement
- Work with suppliers to improve processes and reduce defects
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain quality records, reports, and compliance documentation
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with procurement, production, and R&D team
- Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of quality tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis)
- Attention to detail
- Communication and negotiation skills
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc.)
- Certifications such as Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) are an advantage
- Experience in quality, manufacturing, or supplier management preferred
