Job Profile: Tooling Engineer

Reports To: Tooling Manager
Job Summary
You will play a key role in tooling design, performance, and continuous improvement across production.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop tooling solutions such as injection moulds, stamping dies, and assembly fixtures using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or NX).
- Improve production efficiency by reducing cycle time, material waste, and tooling downtime.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot tooling issues during production to restore stability and quality.
- Work closely with external toolmakers to manage fabrication, ensure accuracy, and meet required tolerances.
- Conduct tool trials, evaluate performance, and refine designs until optimal output is achieved.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 1–3 years of experience in tooling, mould design, or precision manufacturing environment. Open to fresh graduates.
- Experience in CAD-based design and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Exposure to manufacturing or toolroom environment is an added advantage.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Strong CAD/CAM proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX).
- Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of materials, including plastics, metals, and heat treatment processes.
- Familiarity with FEA and Moldflow simulation tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage projects and communicate technical issues clearly with cross-functional teams and non-engineers.
