Network Security Engineer (Kuala Lumpur)

We are looking for a Network Security Engineer who would like to grow with us, clearly defined by three things:

As a Network Security Engineer, you will have a chance to:

• Incident Management: Handle incoming support tickets via email/phone; perform Level 1 & Level 2 troubleshooting for firewall, VPN, and connectivity issues.
• Monitoring: Proactively monitor client networks using NMS tools (e.g., FortiAnalyzer, PRTG) to detect outages or performance degradation.
• Routine Maintenance: Execute scheduled tasks such as firewall firmware upgrades, signature updates (IPS/AV), and configuration backups.
• Change Requests: Implement standard change requests (e.g., opening ports, modifying VLANs, updating address objects) for existing customers.
• Patch Management: Manage and execute firmware upgrades and security patches for client firewalls, ensuring vulnerabilities are remediated in a timely manner.
• RMA Processing: Assist in the hardware replacement process (RMA) with vendors like Fortinet or Cisco when equipment fails.
• Reporting: Generate monthly maintenance reports on network health, uptime, and threat logs. Assist in preparing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for critical incidents.

We are looking for an individual with:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in network security engineering, incident management, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, endpoint security, and network monitoring tools.
• Hands-on experience with BMC Remedy ITSM, ITIL processes, and CMDB management.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, network security protocols, and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, ITIL).
• Ability to work independently in a high-pressure, mission-critical environment.
• Willingness to work on-call during non-standard hours, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Certifications:

• CCNA Security / CCNP Security
• CompTIA Security+
• CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• ITIL v4 Foundation
