We're looking for a Financial Controller who can strengthen our financial foundation, bring greater visibility to business performance and help shape the financial decisions that support our next stage of growth.

The Role

As a Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in managing the financial health of 3cat as we continue to grow.

You'll bring financial discipline and commercial thinking together.

That means ensuring strong financial controls, reliable reporting and effective financial planning, while using the numbers to understand what's happening in the business and where we can improve.

You'll work closely with our CEO and leadership team, contributing to business planning, expansion decisions and financial strategies that support sustainable growth.

You'll take ownership of:

• Financial Management & Governance: Oversee financial performance, accounting operations, cash flow, working capital and inventory-related finance processes, ensuring strong financial controls and governance.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Lead accurate and timely financial reporting, management accounts, month-end closing, audits, taxation and statutory compliance, including multi-entity consolidation.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis, providing insights into store profitability, margins, costs and business performance.
• Strategic Business Partnering: Partner with the CEO and leadership team on business planning, expansion opportunities and investment decisions, providing financial analysis, commercial insights and recommendations.
• Finance Transformation & Systems: Improve financial processes, reporting systems and automation, building scalable capabilities to support business expansion and operational efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop the finance team, building a culture of accountability, financial discipline and continuous improvement.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can see beyond the numbers and understand what they mean for the business.

You should be equally comfortable strengthening financial controls, challenging assumptions and working with leadership to make better financial decisions. We value someone who takes ownership, thinks commercially and knows how to balance financial discipline with the realities of a fast-growing business.

We're looking for someone who:

• Brings around 7-10 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in retail, distribution or an inventory-heavy business, with an Accounting or Finance degree and a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA.
• Has a strong foundation in financial reporting, governance, internal controls, taxation and compliance, with experience managing complex financial operations.
• Is experienced in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis, with the ability to turn financial data into commercial insights.
• Understands cash flow, working capital, inventory management and the financial drivers of a multi-outlet business.
• Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, takes ownership of challenges and can build scalable financial processes and systems.
• Can lead and develop a finance team while partnering effectively with senior management and influencing business decisions.

Experience in multi-entity consolidation and cross-border financial operations or taxation would be an added advantage.
