Talent Specialist

HR & ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT
Malaysia

About The Role

We are looking for a Talent Specialist who is passionate about people, talent, and culture.

As 3cat continues to scale its team, retail footprint, and regional presence, this role will play a key part in helping us attract great talent, strengthen our employer brand, and create a positive experience for both candidates and employees.

This is more than a recruitment role. You will support end-to-end hiring, build talent pipelines, partner with hiring managers, contribute to employer branding, and help shape people and culture initiatives as 3cat grows.

You will be one of the ambassadors of 3cat, representing the company internally and externally while helping to build the people foundations for our next phase of growth.

Why this Role Matters to Us

People are one of the most important drivers of 3cat’s growth.

As we scale from 22 stores to more than 50 stores across the region, we need to attract, assess, and hire the right people across retail, HQ, leadership, and specialist roles.

This role matters because it helps 3cat build a stronger hiring engine, improve candidate experience, strengthen employer branding, and support employee engagement as the company grows.

The Talent Specialist will help ensure that hiring is proactive, structured, and aligned with the company’s culture, values, and business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Attraction, Employer Branding and Talent Acquisition

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment across retail, HQ, and business functions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, role requirements, and workforce plans.
  • Develop sourcing strategies to attract quality candidates across different levels and functions.
  • Build and nurture talent pipelines through LinkedIn, job portals, referrals, universities, networking events, and professional communities.
  • Screen, assess, and shortlist candidates based on role requirements, motivation, and organisational fit.
  • Coordinate and facilitate interviews with hiring managers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure a positive, professional, and engaging candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Support employer branding initiatives that showcase life at 3cat, career opportunities, employee stories, values, and company culture.
  • Track recruitment activities and support continuous improvement of hiring processes, templates, and candidate experience.

Employee Experience, Culture and People Initiatives

  • Support onboarding initiatives to create a positive new hire experience.
  • Assist in employee engagement activities, internal events, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Support employee feedback and engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with talent development, learning, and people-related programs as the company grows.
  • Partner with leaders, managers, and employees to strengthen employee experience and reinforce company values.
  • Support People Team projects that contribute to building a scalable and engaging workplace.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, HR, Employer Branding, or related fields.
  • Experience hiring across multiple functions and levels is an advantage.
  • Experience in a startup, scale-up, retail, technology, or consumer-facing environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine people person who enjoys building relationships and connecting with others.
  • Naturally outgoing, engaging, and comfortable interacting with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong networking and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident in representing the company internally and externally.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to support employer branding and hiring content.
  • Organised, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment.
  • Passionate about people, culture, and helping businesses grow through talent.

Expected Outcomes from this Role

  • Build a strong and sustainable talent pipeline to support 3cat’s business growth.
  • Improve hiring speed, structure, and candidate quality across retail and HQ roles.
  • Deliver a positive candidate, onboarding, and employee experience.
  • Strengthen 3cat’s employer brand and talent attraction efforts.
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers, employees, and external talent communities.
  • Support employee engagement and culture-building initiatives that strengthen the workplace experience.
  • Contribute to building the people and culture foundations needed for 3cat’s next phase of growth.

About the Company

3cat Sdn Bhd

Founded in 2023 as a single-store operation specialising in pre-owned Apple products in Kuala Lumpur, 3cat has rapidly evolved into one of Malaysia’s largest AI-native retailers of high-quality used electronics. Today, 3cat operates more than 20 strategically located retail outlets nationwide, underpinned by an AI-driven technology platform that powers its omnichannel operations and enables data-led decision-making at scale.

At the core of 3cat’s proposition is a disciplined focus on value creation: like-new electronics at up to 60% cheaper than new, underpinned by a 12-month warranty, a 15-day return policy, and a customer experience benchmarked to best-in-class service standards. The company’s circular economy model — extending device lifespans and democratising access to quality technology — directly addresses one of the world’s fastest-growing waste streams.

3cat has bold ambitions to scale to 100 retail stores across multiple Southeast Asian markets — making secondhand the first choice across the region and building one of its most impactful circular economy platforms. 3cat is incorporated in Singapore (3cat Holdings Pte. Ltd.) and operates primarily through its Malaysian subsidiary, 3cat Sdn Bhd.
